Nexus 7 Good for Education?

I'm looking at getting my 10 year old a tablet for mainly educational use. Apps, reading, that kind of thing. Yes he will also use it for media and web browsing. I'm stuck between just getting a Nexus 7 or iPad Mini. Do any of you use your Nexus 7 for educational purposes? How is the app selection and quality? Please don't turn this in to a fanboy thread about way android is better than ios or vice versa. I just want input from people that use their Nexus 7 for education. Thanks

I don't teach education but you'll get pretty much the same app expierence on both you would save money on the N7 but you may find the iPad easier to use for a ten yr old but either way you choose the app experience will be solid at least it is for me with google books

I think the iPad would be better for Ed purposes. More apps for education purposes and being a teacher I've never seen the the N7 used in a classroom.
