I was waiting for something like this to surface. Perhaps it's why many people (including me) with a 2013 N7 still haven't gotten the update yet. Thanks for the tip!

Before people get too excited, let's place some heavy emphasis on 'rumour'. If you look at the sources for that article, one is the Bug Tracker which simply changes the status of the bug to "FutureRelease", and the other is an article that says "For most users, there is little that we can do until Google releases a fix and updates Android Lollipop to 5.0.1." That's it.

Nothing definite in either one, besides acknowledgement that it is indeed an issue.

Hopefully because I know one thing, after reading some of the horror stories of what lollipop did to the n7 I wouldn't have even installed it even if I had received it. Hopefully we get the next version without ant bugs.

Well I was wondering why I didn't get it with my new 2013 N7. Today I just fixed my 2012 N7 that booted for the first time with the new battery in 45 days and I saw a 5.0 Lollipop manual notifications but no 5.0 OTA update.
