I just updated my Nexus 7 to Android 5.0.2, but noticed that after the update, apps from the PlayStore get updated and installed a little bit slower. Is that normal? I made a factory reset, just in case, but this still happens. Anyone facing this issue and how did you fix it?

I noticed the same thing. I haven't tried anything to fix it.

That's normal since lollipop comes with ART instead of Dalvik. The apps are pre-compiled when installed.

It's an old article but explains the difference quite well.

Didn't they also say that apps are a bit larger due to ART as well?

Yes. If you switch back and forth between the Dalvik and ART you will see an increase in app size due to the pre-compilation in ART.
