Google Android 8.0 paper launch party is August 21 / 2017 (Should be only for official Google products!)

The same day Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 paper launch party is also on August 21 / 2017

Off topic Intel 8th generation Mobile hardware also the same day!

Google Pixel 2 & Pixel XL 2 will come with Android 8.1

Google is copying what they did with Pixel & Pixel XL last year "Snapdragon 821 & Android 7.1" model.

August 21 / 2017 going to be a busy day for Google fans!

If you are implying we see Pixel 2/XL 2 announcement on 8/21, you would be wrong. They have not even gone through the FCC yet for approval.

That article has no credible source behind it. Here's their source: Snapdragon 836 to debut with Pixel 2

The first problem is, fudzilla and others are "quoting" a single unnamed source "close to the industry". The second problem is, no one has ever provided any evidence or public comment about the existence of an 836. Let alone a launch party, etc. Qualcomm has never mentioned the chip and there's never been any internal documents that have gone public that use 836 as even a placeholder. The same is not true for the 845, which certainly does exist and is being worked on for a Q1 2018 release.

There's also no launch party scheduled for Android 8.0 next Monday and there are no device launches happening from Google in August. Of the 6 sentences in the OP, at least 4 are false and 1 is just an educated guess.

Now that the initial impressions of the Essential Phone are out, I'm even more curious now to see what Google comes up with for the Pixel 2.
