The first app opened is BSG's v4.0. You would need root and to uninstall the stock camera app to downgrade to this version but I don't recommend it right now. The config is set to 2017 Pixel Hardware ZSL HDR+. This config would not process anything on other phones or on 8.0 on the Pixel 2.
The second app is Arnova's 5.1.016 v1.3 set to mimic a stock Pixel 2. It's processing time matches the stock camera app on 8.1 DP2. I have messaged the author on XDA to see if he can bring back the HW ZSL config on his next version.
Tl;dw if the PVC is used by the Google Camera, the processing is much faster.

Edit: here's a couple photos with and without the Hal HDR enabled, using the hw zsl HDR config.
