Pixel 2 - Terrible "Phone Idle" battery life??

Man, how are you guys getting some of these numbers? I guess, I'll try an overnight tonight and see what it looks like.

Yeah, I don't know how some of these low overnight numbers are happening. I've never been that fortunate. My Pixel 2 is the best phone I've had when it comes to idle battery usage but the best I can get is 0.5% - 0.6% per hour. Doing the math, my battery drains about 4-6% overnight. Not bad and I'm very happy with that but no way I'd see >4% overnight.

BTW, I'm on 8.1.

Okay, so this is last night, with everything on ... Wi-fi, Bluetooth, etc. on my Pixel 2 running 8.1. What is going on with some of these numbers you guys are saying... 6-7% ?? ... 20% ..!?!?

Yep, 7% - 8% is about the overnight idling decline I see since 8.1.
It was 5% - 6% when my phone was on 8.0.

Okay wait.. So I'm clear.. Are we talking TOTAL battery usage or Phone idle battery usage?? Cause I see mine at 2%

I suspect battery usage might be even higher if I did that since WiFi reception is much better than cell reception at my house. Or do you mean just go into airplane mode?

Sorry, I meant total battery usage with phone sitting unused overnight and not the battery specification category "phone idle" when breaking down total battery usage.

May be. All I know is when every phone I have, and the wifi networks I have.. It seems to save battery for me when I turn it off.. Which I agree is weird.

Yeah I remember in the old android days, they would say to turn wifi off to save battery.

Wow, your apps are draining 50% of the overall charge, you could start there... Also is your AoD Always On... you could set that too when you pick it up, also turn off, BT, NFC, Account Auto Syncs and set your device Location to Battery saving
