In Europe with Pixel 2 and ipad.

Voice coverage is excellent, now wanting to use my
P Fi sim in ipad for data to save battery time on phone.

I see 5 bars from local carrier (Orange F) but ipad states I need to turn on data roaming.

Is that a normal requirement? If so will I be charged
a additional/higher rate for that roaming data?

    General thoughts?

Project Fi data costs the same internationally as it does in the US - $10/GB.

    Right, I understood that.

My question is is there any additional costs if I enable 'data roaming' on my iPad?

It doesn't seem to work without it.

No. Enabling data roaming just allows the device to connect to carriers it's not used to connecting to (to put it simply).

In fact - Google even TELLS you to enable this feature in the help topic. https://support.google.com/fi/answer..._topic=6181106
