While they certainly are vibrant, OLEDs also have almost always resulted in burn in for me. I RMAed by first Pixel XL, and my first Pixel 2 XL as well. Since we're so close to the Pixel 3 release, I'm dealing with it, but it shouldn't even be a problem on a $1K+ phone.

Google is not changing to LCD displays for the 3.

If are constantly experiencing burn in it is probably related to your usage pattern.

A phone, especially this kind of phone, should not experience such issues. This is a defect.

No. I prefer OLED screens for my mobile phones.

I've had OLED displays on my 2 previous phones and no burn in. One of the reasons I chose the Pixel over another phone was because of the OLED vs LCD display.

The XL and 2Xl screens were made by different manufacturers. Anyway the 3 and 3 XL are going to be OLED.

Keep the OLEDs. Just better technology than LCD.

Although my LG phones weren't real bad I hate how LCD exhibits light bleed. I did have screen retention on my V20 which was annoying.

I've used phones with both OLED and LCD screens. Neither were better or worse to me. The type of display was never something I considered when purchasing a new phone.

I have used plenty good OLED screens and prefer them over LCD. Love pure black on OLED screens and also how low or bright the display can get.

    I wish

At least its better than Sammy's AMOLED displays though which are just awful for colours.
Not sure why everyone digs their acid trip reproduction but that seems to be the way of the world these days.

It annoys me that so many reviewers think OLED is automatically better than LCD. Just herd mentality I guess

You're confusing color calibration and settings with display quality: Samsung makes some of the best displays in the market, which may be why they're the supplier for Apple.
The fact that you don't like how they've calibrated the color spectrum on their phones is a totally unrelated matter. And of course, you can customize the color settings on their phones if you don't like their default settings.

Yeah same, the screen will be good either way. Absolute screen perfection is incidental as to how I need to use my phone anyway. I think both types look awesome. I have one of each ATM and both are fantastic screens.

You do realize that for Apple and the smaller Pixel, the screen was made by Sammy right? Also, when you set the Sammy screen to "basic", it's even one of the most color accurate screens in the market available. Just because the default isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean you can't adjust it.

I can't wait to see how Micro LED will compare. Best of both worlds: No burn in and individual pixels can turn off

And that's how you know Samsung makes good displays, Apple uses them. If only the Google could get Samsung panels. Lg oled sucks.
