Pie: Battery Life

Just curious to hear how everybody's battery life is after upgrading to Pie?

For me, my both standby and overall battery usage is quite a bit better than Oreo. Frankly, I didn't expect much change from the upgrade (in terms of battery life) but am really pleasantly surprised.

What is everybody else seeing?

I can't really tell the different on my P2XL from the Betas, but it's definitely better than when on Oreo.

I only got my 2XL yesterday and immediately upgraded to P. I have used the phone a lot today, with over 5.5 hours of SOT and currently have 17% left.

Battery is fine, it's my usage that's out of whack.

I think my actual usage is better... Seems to last longer throughout my workday, but I'm not sure when the phone is asleep. My first overnight self test, I lost 12%... second night 10% ...

Hopefully the system gets settled in and that gets down to the mid single digits.

I meant I use my phone all day long.

My battery life has been great since the first beta release. It seems like it got a little bit better with each subsequent release. Really good now, I’m very pleased with it

Follow up post..

I think my meter is off... My overnight system performance is about what I expect, close to 6%, but the meter is showing a 12% decline... 6% of that is unaccounted for.

For me, it seems a little worse than what it was on beta. I don't have hard numbers yet though.

Hey guys, Pixel 2 (regular) owner here.

I haven't done an overnight check, since I waited to update until this afternoon, and I wasn't on the beta
either. But compared to 8.1, it seems like battery life has improved. Lately it seems like I could just get a bit over 3hrs SOT. Early on I was able to hit 4hrs SOT pretty regularly, and in extreme situations I could get over 5hrs. Normally the first day after an update my battery is lower and takes awhile to shake out. So far I'm at 49% battery with 2hrs 47mins SOT. So if that holds I'll be happy.

I don't even hate the gestures, I thought I would but don't. So far, happy with my piece of Pie.

So with this new "AI" they've got in Pie, will my phone eventually figure out "X minutes until full" while charging?? Lol. I was at 93% with a "7 minutes until full" and 8 minutes later I was at 95%... It really seems like it shouldn't have that hard of a time determining charge times. It's been wrong as long as I've had the phone.

Any battery life change doesn't jump out at me. But then I had no complaints about battery life before Pie. 2XL 128

Exactly the same for me. Overnight is running 10%-12% decline, but my actual day usage has been incredible! I've been coming off charger at 7:00a and having plenty left in the tank at 10:00p with 4+ hours SoT.

Seems to be the same for me, before and after the upgrade. Then again, I think the battery was great to begin with as I usually get 7 hours SoT on LTE, and 10 hours on wifi.

Update: My Pixel 2 seems to be charging faster under Pie. Has anyone else experienced this change?
