Sorry if a similar thread exists. There seems to be a lot of issues, and Google has acknowledged this. Just wondering if anyone here has had a fairly seamless, trouble-free Pie update experience.

I'm getting a replacement phone (due to an update gone bad) and am considering if I should keep Oreo on it for awhile, which for me, ran perfectly. Thanks.

I haven't had any issues with mine after Pie. Mainly just getting used to things being slightly different. My battery life is good, maybe better.

Tough to answer, since use cases are so wildly different ... Personally, I'm 98% free of any issues. My only enigma has been trying to understand the battery regulation ... It's amazing for me during daytime with actual use, but my overnight idle has been more draining then on Oreo. Puzzling ...

No problems here so far. Did a factory reset before applying the update. Had a few hiccups with Android auto initially but all good now.

Nothing major, just an issue with persistent notifications for text messages after quick reply, which I detailed on another thread here. Otherwise has been working well.

This may have been an "enhancement" with Pie. Hangouts (I'm on Fi, I can still use it for texting) does it to me also, it might be there to allow you to see the conversation history for the current "session".

No issues. Had beta previously. Battery is excellent. Over all is very smooth and flat out awesome. Use various launchers and great battery either one. A couple launchers aren't quite ready for pie yet so waiting on those to be updated but most are very slickly fine. Oem pixel launcher unsurprisingly is very good with pie. 4 to 5 sot which is more than enough for me.

I'm delighted -- and relieved -- to report that my Pixel 2 XL has been performing flawlessly since the Pie update. In fact, I've noticed a discernible improvement in battery life, and was especially pleased to find that both the tap-to-unlock and swipe-up-to-open functions are now regularly working on the first try, where I had frequently been required to repeat the tapping or swipe gesture two or three times prior to the update. Although I recognize that, unfortunately, not everyone is satisfied with the changes, I'm enjoying the AOD display of battery status on the lock screen and have found the other modifications, including the gestures and the shifting of the clock to the left side of the notifications bar, to require a relatively effortless adjustment. The only minor issue I've encountered was with one of my apps, a VPN secure connection program, which stopped operating until this morning when an updated version became available.

My Pixel 2 is perfect. Pixel Launcher, Google Keyboard, fast, smooth, such a nice phone. I may get a Pixel 3 XL just for the size, but this phone is so nice I may never give it up.

Huh, didn't realize that (I use Textra, never got into Hangouts). So it leaves the text message in the notifications pane after you respond?

Yup, it leaves the message and also shows my side of the conversation. I thought this was what you meant when you mentioned persistent text notifications after quick reply (which is when I've noticed the above).

Oh k, not exactly (it doesn't show my responses, just the texts from my correspondent) and I notice it with BBM and text messages through Textra. I assumed it had to do with third party apps and how quick reply is handled in Pie, so I figured there'd eventually be a fix with an update down the road.

Just got the phone as the update came out, so I have no previous experience with it, but so far it has been flawless with two exceptions: sometimes double tap to wake doesn't work, and the fingerprint scanner can be finicky.
