The requisite, annual upgrade question post. Anyone planning on switching? Or not?

Last year, it was "definitely" for me. I'm on the fence this time, made more difficult since I just got a new 2 XL as a warranty replacement.

    Thoughts?

Definitely - not an XL, a regular 3.

I'll make it 3 years in a row and pick up a standard Pixel 3, for sure.

No I am going to wait until next year, my pixel 2 is running great and I don't see enough of a bump to get the Pixel 3, I'll see what the Pixel 4 brings

Kate and I went with Google Fi when I got the 2 XL and she inherited my Nexus 6.
The Nexus 6 battery is starting to fail after all these years.
So it's definite that she is inheriting my Pixel 2 XL and I'm getting the 3 XL.
    Case closed!

Would you settle for a notch?

My buddy just got the iPhone X. The notch is not objectionable. It'll be interesting to see how much bigger it is on the 3 XL.

As for the original question, I just got my 2 XL and so far really like it. I usually keep my phones for over two years so I'll be looking at the 5XL or the end run of the 4XL!

Knowing me I will. I really want the LTE watch more then the phone.

TBH this Pixel 2 XL (got on launch) is the longest I have had a phone. Almost a full year. Before I couldn't go 2-3 months. Maybe I am just getting old? :P.

I thought about it but I'm one of the people that hates notches. I think I might want till next year to upgrade.

I think this is the year to skip. This is like the year of the Nexus 6. The pixel 2 xl is actually aging better than the original pixel. Still feels like a new phone. Buttery smooth and monthly updates.

Ron Amadeo pulled that from one of those Ukrainian 3 XL reviews, I suppose, and tweeted about it. So don't get your hopes up.

No need. My 2 XL is awesome. I don't see the 3 XL bringing a whole lot more to the table except wireless charging and the jaw-droppingly ugly notch.

While there are always those that get enamored with shiny new toys.

The bigger question is: who still has an original pixel or xl, and STILL don't feel the need to update.

My XL is still the best phone I have had and still runs as good as day one. Any other phone (ios or android) that I have had or seen, starts to go to pot by year 2. Requiring wipes, new batteries or other "maintenance".

    Not this thing.

I think I will spend my 800 (or more) on a new set of clubs or some other new toy, and continue to enjoy one of the best phones in the market
