Know it has been asked over the locked Bootloader.

But I went to the Corporate Verizon store today. Having a hard time waiting on the Pixel 3 XL to come out. I need a phone.
I went to the Corporate Verizon store, was gonna get a Pixel 2 XL to try out for 2 weeks since I've never had one.
They said there would be a 50.00 restocking fee.
And a 30.00 Upgrade fee. And I thought to myself I needed to get a case. That was another 50.00.
So for me to pay cash for the phone. I would loose 130.00 just to try out the Google Pixel 2 XL phone.
Left and went to a Verizon retail store.
They wanted a 50.00 restocking fee. 50.00 for a case.
And a 46.00 programming fee. Even if I programmed the phone myself.

    It was their policy.
I asked what happened to customer service.
How is anybody suppose to try out a phone.
I will pay the restocking fee.
But Dauym. I ain't paying 130.00 and up just to check out a phone.
So if you are thinking about buying a phone from Verizon or Google.
This may give you something to think about.

Stores are just crap. I mean restocking fee + activation/upgrade fee are normal but buying a case for $50 is just -- wow. I would order it on Amazon.

I personally buy through Verizon since I have no issue with them but I don't really buy one to test/try it out so I can't really comment on that. I don't think Google has a restocking fee and you would avoid the activation/upgrade fee. You would just have to check their return policy.

Since buying my Honor 8 unlocked in December 2016, I prefer to go unlocked. Way less hassle through carriers. I bought my Pixel 2 through Google and have no regrets!

Never liked buying phones from carrier stores. The LG G2 was my last phone I got from the store. Now I just buy from Google or Amazon. When purchased directly from Amazon you can try the phone out for a month and still get a refund. My Pixel 2 was purchased like new/open box on Amazon. I'd also never buy a case at the store. You can get a good case for under $20.

I purchased my last 5 phones directly from the Google store.
There is no way I would ever buy anywhere else.
Every purchase has been hassle free.
    Google customer service is superb!

Buy from Google. You have a couple of weeks to try. No restocking fee.

I'm surprised it took them that long to raise it. Everyone else was doing 50 so you would figure Verizon would jump at the chance but it took them a long while.

I purchased numerous phones going both routes and have decided a couple years ago that unlocked, direct thru Google is the best. Much less hassle and also less cost and also better return policy. Win/Win

I guess if you buy from google they give you more information than the Google store does.

Google store don't show nothing on how to get in touch with them.

Sell me the 3XL, I will order it right now. Hello !
