The Canadian cell service provider Freedom Mobile has the pixel 3 and 3xl listed on their site for order, the price for the 64 gig pixel 3 is $999 Canadian, the 128 gig version is $1129 Canadian, the 64 gig xl is $1129 Canadian, and the 128 gig xl is a whopping $1259 Canadian.

The reviewer stated those prices would break down to roughly $800, $900, and $1000 USD. Those conversions sound a little low to me, but either way the prices have definitely jumped up a bunch from last year :O

I don't think they offer enough to be more expensive than last year. It was £749 for a 64GB P2XL last year and £650 for the P2. Don't know the UK prices for the 3 yet.

Out of curiosity, I went to the Freedom Mobile site, could not see any P3 phones for sale. Maybe they detected I was outside their service area (east coast USA), maybe the ads were pulled, or maybe I need more coffee.

I think the base model Pixel 3 is going to come in at $750USD. They keep the prices the same on that model for 2 years, so a $100 price raise wouldn't surprise me. $800 though, I might raise an eyebrow for a second or two ..

So if that's the case, I expect all prices to be higher this year come Tuesday.

I'm 100% thinking the same thing.

I love "new", I love "latest", but $750 is a lot to spend when all you end up with wireless charging.

NOTICE: - I didn't say I wouldn't get it, just have to think about it -

FYI - If you are posting regularly to this forum, you are a Pixelite and will buy the P3 if you have put on high heels, black mesh stocking, and swing a red plastic purse as you walk the streets at night to pay for it. FYI - I have great legs.

I wonder if pricing had anything to do with Verizon stopping sales of the pixel 2 a week and a half ago or so? Do they usually stop sales of a current model a couple weeks before the new one is announced?

Well according to this link, they dropped the Nexus 5x and 6p the see day they announced the Pixels. And the year prior, they stopped selling the Nexus 6 in December, don't recall when they unveiled the 6p/5x. Anyways, hers the link about discontinuing the 6p/5x.

Here's an article on PhoneArena about the pricing, and they give an example of the disparity between Canadian and US pricing. According to the article, it's not just strictly the exchange rate, but that phones are slightly more expensive in Canada. Their example is that the Pixel 2 goes for $900 Canadian, which is $695 US, but in the US it's $649. So the article speculates the base Pixel 3 would go for $700 US. Article linked below.

The highest storage configuration is only going to be 128GB? That's disappointing, especially when we all shoot video in 4K now.

I'm going to go out on a hopeful limb here and say the P3 prices will be the same as the P2 prices.
Google is a fairly new comer to the phone market and may want to get as many phones as possible in circulation, even if they make a few dollars less on each one.

So when the P2 launched it was $999 CAD for the smallest, $1129 for the 128 P2, $1129 for the 64 GB P2XL and $1259 for the 128 P2XL.

The suggested prices increase the price by $100 CAD on the P3 models and lower the price by $30 CAD on the P3XL.

Last year's ratio of CAD to US was about 1.37, with some variance because they wanted to keep a specific set of numbers, ie. ending in x29, not x27.

Currently that ratio is about 1.3. That would give me price estimates of 768, 868, 868 and 968 in USD. That makes me guess that US prices will likely be $749, $849, $849 and $949, since US prices stuck hard to x49 last year. That would make the XL models exactly the same price as last years, while the smaller version is going up by $100. That sounds somewhat unrealistic to me, so I guess my official answer is ¯\_(o_o)_/¯ .

Man I bet at these price increases.
Phone sales will slow down.
