Pop up notifications stop appearing after undocking from stand

Anyone else notice or have an issue with pop up notifications while screen is unlocked? It seems to stop working for me after undocking from the Google stand. After restarting it works again.

I've played with it more and the stand definitely screws up popup notifications (easy test is doing a screenshot. Screenshots should have a popup to edit)

Luckily I only care about the charging aspect of the stand. The app for the stand can be disabled which turns off all other features such as always on display. Disabling the app stops popup notifications from working after undocking.

I also have the same issue. I sent system log to Google. hopefully a software update in the near future

not only that, but if I have ambient display off, after I take it off the stand, notifications don't wake the screen anymore. (probably related to the pop up notifications) Pretty annoying as I see myself restarting every morning after I remove it from the stand.
