I hope getting topped by Huawei, HTC, and Apple gives Google enough of a nudge to add a rear telephoto lens to the P4.

It should be noted that they did not factor in Night Sight into their score in any way.

I mean, 101 is a good score for sure. I just don't think DxOMark as a rating just seems to harder to find their control standard for scoring. Pixel 3 better video score than an iPhone XS, but poorer still shot score ..?!? Whatever, I guess ...

The Google camera is very good regardless, it's just Apple , Huawei step up their game this year , it made other manufacturer to try and top Google camera and next year Google will do the same .

Anytime a score goes over 100, what does it even mean anymore? Now that the top performer is at 109, is this out of 110 or 200? If its out of 1000 all these cameras are still garbage....

To me it is irrelevant now. I thought the camera on the 6P was great, apparently that scored only a 73. I thought the Pixel1 was great, that was only a 90.

As long as I can capture the photos I want and save them Im happy. Im not entering any photo competitions. Honestly, I still have photos saved from my SE T610 back in 2003. Ok, now I admit, those arent that great.

I personally prefer getting more consistently great shots than having the ability to sometimes get "better" shots. Software is king for the average user who isn't a semi-pro photog.

I'm hip ... I'm not sure what any of it means any more.. 101 .. 105.. 90 ..? I gues it's all relative, but that seems like a given. Like a 101 is the highest score yet for a Pixel, but OF COURSE it is. What else would be expected ?? So what's the point of it all ? idk ..

I thought when Samsung introduced the s9+ and note 9 camera with dual aperture was going be something special and that didn't happen although it's a great camera .
It is good. I have had great results out of the aperture especially in low light and even in day light when it adjusts to boost HDR scene with more light.

I agree on low light shots , I think Samsung could've did little more on software side on the dual aperture in auto mode. But for adjusting things on the pro mode this thing got to be top 2 or 3.

I 100% predict that Google will finally bring out 2 rear cameras and hopefully one of them being a wide angle lens along with 6gb of ram minimum imo..

I definitely agree, if I had to make a guess the smaller pixel will stay on the single camera while the bigger gets the dual camera.

I'm not sure about that. If the rumors about a "Pixel Lite" version going around are true I still think the regular Pixel 4 versions will carry the same hardware but the lite version will stick with 1.

Even without the "Lite" seeing the light of day, I agree with you. It's been a Pixel selling point, same camera on Pixel and the XL version. Can't see Google changing that anytime soon.

Yeah I think so too, but at the same time it wouldn't surprised me if they kept both phones with the same camera/cameras.

My thinking is because Google likes what it's done with single camera and I dont think they will give it up yet , but I think they want to dive into the front dual camera and to me it's the wise thing to do until it becomes standard. I know it's just us thinking the possibility but that's what I think they will do next.

The thing that Google cannot do with a single camera system is wide angle shot. I believe that is what they will target with a dual camera system as opposed to using the secondary camera for depth information. Along with that I think they will also use the secondary camera lens to capture more light with some of enhanced night sight. One thing I wish google could do is equip a variable aperture lens like Samsung but I don’t think that will happen.

I can see them doing it for wide angle, but I would like to see them do something more with depth information I mean look at what they can do with digital zoom 1 sensor unbelievable. The variable aperture would definitely be cool but I'm with u on that wont come.
