Pixel 3 Notification interruptions, and call cuts.

I seem to have 2 annoying issues with the Pixel 3.

1. During a call, the call gets cut off if my ear touches the screen.
2. My notification drop down keeps pooping up.

Help please.

For your first complaint it sounds like the proximity sensor isn't doing its job; as the phone nears your head the screen should turn off, preventing accidental key presses. You should download one of the myriad test applications from the Google Play Store and test to see if it's working correctly. It's possible that you have a screen protector or case that's blocking it. Or of course it could just be defective.
For the latter issue - does the Notification shade keep opening and closing without any input from you? You could try booting into Safe mode and see if you're able to reproduce the problem. If not then you probably have a 3rd party application causing the problem.

I keep getting calls dropped for no reason while I am sitting still. With the other issues I'm having, in thinking about dumping this phone and Fi.
