So true. And even now, my 2XL that has the led will only show the last notification, whereas the BlackBerry used to cycle through the colours/notifications.
When you got more than one text from a "colour contact," your phone was like a rainbow!

That's why I liked the LED though. More private, just as informative, and no need to sap battery for the screen all the time. I have AOD turned off, personally I can't stand it.

Admittedly the Pixel 2 LED was so faint it was almost useless. But I was still disappointed when I discovered (only after buying it) they had completely eliminated the LED from the Pixel 3.

I know , it was a bummer for me also.
I still have my pix 2 xl everytime I see that led light I'm like why couldn't they just put In the pixel 3. I also have it on all my Samsung phones and 1+6 so maybe thats why it doesn't bother as much to me , but I get what your saying , like ok take headphone Jack but leave the led light lol..

The LED is definitely one thing I miss too! I hadn't realized Google eliminated it on the Pixel 3. The Pixel 2 had it, and I don't recall a single review noting it had been eliminated on the 3.
It didn't do a lot for me on the Pixel 2XL.

There's a reason why some of us former Crackberriens felt like we were downgrading in some ways when we gave up our BlackBerry!

Don't think I could manage without that keyboard. Flicking those words up, which then slowly disappear...!
