Android Central Question

With the Gmail app, if you forward an email (with a pop/imap service), sometimes it will not include the original text in the forwarded message. The only way to force it to include it is to hit the 3 little dots in the body of the yet to be forwarded message. It shows the included text and subsequently forwards that text.

Sometimes it includes the original text without doing that, but sometimes it doesn't.

This has been going on since the Pixel 1 I had.

Seems like a bug to me.

It might be due to the format of the text in the email. Pay close attention from now on and maybe you'll catch a common thread. Then sending feedback with the details (like "quoted text doesn't get forwarded", or whatever) makes it easy for the development team to dive right in and change it.

I was actually wondering about the formatting. Thank you for your response!

I viewed source and it looks to me like it is plain text.

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

I checked two others similar situations and it has the same info in the headers.
