I've been thinking of getting a Pixel 3 or 3a and right now the 3 is only $100 more then the 3a.
Is the $100 difference worth it?

The 3 is a flagship phone (Snapdragon 800 series). The 3a is a mid-range phone (600 series) - less power, less speed. Also the 3 has the Visual core chip - the 3a doesn't, so camera processing is done in the CPU, which can take quite a while (seconds instead of milliseconds). If you're taking a series of HDR+ shots of Night Sight shots, it makes a big difference. (With the Visual Core, a Night Sight shot can take 10 seconds.)

The 3 is available in a 128GB version, if you need it. The 3 has wireless charging.

I have the 2 (with the 3 camera app port) - I'd say it is, if you're upgrading from something a bit older. (From the 2 + Camera 3 to the 3 isn't much of a difference.)

I just made this decision 3 days ago, I went with the 3 because I felt the screen, processor and dual front camera would be a little more beneficial. Also, liked the size of the 3 over the 3a.

I went with the 3 recently as well over the 3a. At $800 the 3 was not worth it over the 3a but at only $100 more I felt it was for a lot of the reasons listed. I did also recently get a 3a for one of my kids which I felt was the better device for them due to the plastic body and it being more durable. That said the 3a is a very solid device and the only issue I've seen is a little lag after taking pictures sometimes otherwise it looks solid and I think I'd be fine with it. However, for only $100 more I think the Pixel 3 is a no brainier.

If it was 100 bucks more for a 3 at the time of my purchase of the 3a, I may have went with the 3 as well. There are some advantages to having the 3a. Longer battery life, headphone jack, slightly bigger screen (may not be an advantage to some) and will have more updates since it is newer.

Both are great choices though. Couldn't lose with either one (unless you need more storage which the 3 offers).
