I have been following a thread on Google's Pixel Community Forums about low LTE signal strength. Someone posted tonight that there was a new update available for the Pixel 3, XL and Pixel A. I went to the update page in settings and had is check for updates, and what do you know, there is an update to Android 10. Funny that it is 1,336 MB which I remember is the same as it was a couple of weeks ago with the original rollout.

Anyone else seeing this if you push the check for update button. I have not gone ahead with it yet. The speculation on the Google community page is it is a fix for the low signal problem that hundreds are reporting in their forums. I'm a bit hesitant to take this update because it appears to be the same wording that was on the original update back on Sept 5th and doesn't say anything about being new.

Here is a screenshot. Keep in mind I've been using 10 since release date, so not sure why I would be getting the same thing again if it wasn't a newer version.

By the way, I have a 3 XL on Verizon.

That does look like the original update info. How can you update to 10 if you already have 10? It doesn't say anything about being an "update for 10", but an "update to 10".

What ya' gonna do?

I'm going to shut it down and go to bed soon, and see if it is there when I check again in the morning. I agree it should say something different if it is an update. The odd thing is before I pushed the button to manually update, it said the "last check for updates" was only 10 minutes before I pushed the button. I only manually checked it because someone on the Google Pixel Community said there was an update available. I was shocked when it flashed that an update was available and the info I just took on the screenshot appeared. I figure it will happen to someone else by tomorrow, so I'm not going to do anything now.

Good luck! I'll pull up this thread in the morning and make sure your phones didn't get bricked before I pull the trigger on it! LOL

It is legit. Some Googling and found it may be a new carrier variant. I'm on Google Fi, didn't get it yet.
