Strange problem while on the phone.

As mentioned in the title I have a very weird thing happening while I'm on the phone. When I need to hit the phone icon as soon as I get close to the screen it goes black.......yes it goes black by getting close to the screen without touching it. So I just use my fingerprint scanner to light up the screen and the same thing happens over and over again. This has been going on for quite sometime.........any advice?

If you mean that this happens when you're on a phone call (and not using speakerphone or a headset), then it's the proximity sensor sensing your hand getting close, thinking it's your ear. Make sure you're not putting anything near the proximity sensor, which is right near the front-facing camera.

OK.......never too old to learn something new! Funny, but I've had a ton of phones over the years and this is the first one that I ever had this issue with. So I swiped down a little farther to the right and it seems to be OK.........thanks B. Diddy
