I am always amazed at the amount of people who seem to have broken phone screens. Every phone I have had has taken a few drops and never came away with something more than a very fine scratch that you can only see if you shine a flashlight on it at the right angle...until yesterday. This happened in my office parking lot as I was leaving work. Screen was totally dead other than a few green lines that would appear across the top. Thankfully Best Buy had some more in stock so that was a nice unplanned purchase on my way home.

Ordered screen protectors this morning.

Wow, so sorry to hear that. While I've used cases on all my phones, I haven't used screen protectors in the last couple. Seeing your situation makes me think I should do otherwise.

That's why I use an OtterBox Defender with built-in screen protector. There's no such thing as an "accident" that's ever going to hurt your phone ;-) They are bulky, but the peace of mind that comes with the protection truly is priceless
