wifi calling on Verizon

Hi guys, I am thinking of getting a 3a for my mother. the issue is that in her apartment she has ZERO to maybe 1 bar of cell service. she has an older samsung j7 phone at the moment on verizon which works on wifi calling. I have read that the 3a could have issues with wifi calling due to the ay verizon decided to make the network. It is very important that the pixel 3a works on wifi calling without having to jump through hoops to get it to work. she will not be able to remember to switch airplane mode on and off so wifi calling would just need to work on its own with wifi turned on all the time. Can anyone confirm that wifi calling will just work without issues on the 3a?
