Im on the other end of a computer screen.
Not assuming anything.
And I don't make the phones.

Was trying to help solve your problem. Or at least understand what is going on.

Seems Samsung in the 9 update put this in their software.
There has been replies about it in the Samsung community.

Thank you! I've heard so many "just get over it" comments inthe past 2 weeks that I might be a little touchy. Thanks for the clarification.

I've never had a Galaxy phone befor this one. I do have a Tab S4, but primarily use it for web browsing and a few apps, and have never been in the Samsung forum threads until now, so I missed any conversation of this.

I use a small carrier that uses the T-Mobile network and they have always done WiFi calling in the SIM, even before most phones built it into their hardware. I've never set up 911 on the phone and I use this carrier WiFi calling every day.

Thanks for your help!

If you have never used a Samsung smartphone.
There is a whole new world for you to learn.
Stay on here and stay in the Place you need to ask for help.

o.K. google ending with a youtube video may help you do a lot.
When you have a problem.
Put the problem for a reminder in your notes.
When you get a day off go to Tmobile and ask them to show you what you are having a problem with.

If needed, Write the answer down and keep it for future notes.

The note phone is a device that will do a lot of things.
Probably more than you ever imagined.
The more you use it, the more you may learn.

I tell O.K google to do a lot of things for me.
Like tell Google to get me up at 6:00 in the morning.

If I want Google to get me up everyday m-f at 6:00 am.
Google will do that.

You will find out a lot of things you never knew that you could do.

Good luck.

Google can do a lot of tasks for you.

No, there isn't a corporate store where I live. I bought the N10 at a local Microsoft Store and I have been in touch with them about this, as well as Samsung support. Samsung essentially told me that if I want to log into anything Samsung that I have to just comply and get over it, which is both arrogant and egregious.

Actually, I don't use Bixby and don't want Samsung's help in calling anyone. My Contacts are backed up to the Google cloud and I don't want or need Samsung accessing them.

Re: the gift card. They didn't issue me a gift card for the trade, they just did it directly. It isn't actually a huge issue. I just don't know what I'd ever use it for–unless I sell my Tab S4 and opt for a Surface Go as my new tablet.

I'm assuming that you aren't suggesting that I'm stupid with this statement, "Hate to see you having such a hard time cause nobody understood that you didn't understand what they was doing."? At least I'm hoping not. I've never owned a Galaxy phone before this and I've never logged into Samsung on the tablet, so I had no idea that this was an issue. I am very technically savvy, but I'm also very aware of my privacy and the fact that these days, most smart phone users willingly hand over all kinds of data. You may not understand my point here, but this is just wrong. I first discuvered this when I was trying to add Premium Care to my phone and the only way to do that is via the Members app, which will not let you log in until you first grant access to Contacts, which I"m unwilling to do. Their accessing my Contacts has nothing to do with buying an extended warranty.
Hhhmmm not sure I get your issue. Samsung is not "taking" your contacts. It's the exact same thing when you are singing to your Google account and Google is able to see your contacts. No difference there. Every sell phone is like this. You have an iPhone, apple "sees" your contacts. You are not giving away contact information to Samsung.

After all, you are not the 1st professional using a Samsung phone. There are doctors of so many different specialists owing Samsung phones.

Thanks. My issue, and that of others here is that Samsung demands access to my Contacts to log into any Samsung app. For me, I was trying to log into the Members app to add Preferred Care for my phone. I was presented with the typical login screen but when I clicked it, I was not taken to a page to enter my credentials but, instead, I was require to grant access to my Contacts in order to do this. Maybe it's just me, but it is insane to be forced to grant access to my personal data in order to give Samsung even more money for extended warranty/insurance.

Thanks! I'm not sure what you mean by "o.K. google ending with a youtube video may help you do a lot"??"

I'm a bad AC forum member. I tend to only login when I'm shopping for a new device or am having an issue with something. I will aspire to be a better member . . . :D

Ah, got it. To be honest, I hadn't even set this up on the phone yet as I don't use it often, but your message prompted me to do so . . . Thanks again!
