Checked for update on my Pixel 4 XL and no go, turned on my Pixel 2 XL and checked and it is updating right now SMH......

I mentioned it in another thread. I suspect at&t will get the update straight from Google.

128GB AT&T locked pixel 4XL getting update right now.

Also this update does include the 90hz display being utilized more often, plus some minor camera improvements, as per an article on Google News, I forget the source.

WOW big surprise getting update NOW have pixel 4 XL ATT.

Why is it a big surprise? Pixels get update same time on all carriers/unlocked just like the iPhone. If it's a delay it's few days here and there because of staggered roll out. And if needed immediately then can sideload the OTA easily.
It's not like other manufacturers who have carrier specific firmwares and vary between various carriers.

My updates have always been on the money with AT&T..... they may suck at some things, but updates don't seem to be one of them ;-)

Got it in the UK last night

Not a huge sized update but it took quite a while to download and install. For the Pixel 4 XL it supposedly adds the 90hz all of the time and for the 4 it kicks in at 42% brightness. Last night on T-Mobile by the way.
