Phone was never dropped or mishandled. Was on speakerphone when the volume dropped and call became distorted. I recently swapped a Google nest mini 2 that also had a defective speaker. My p1 also had defective ear speaker. C'mon Google... You should have a quality supplier figured out by now. Waiting on a refurb from Google fi.

To be fair I had the Nexus 6P, P 1 XL, P2 XL, P3 XL and never had an issue with the speakers. I also own 1 nest mini, 6 Google home mini's (before they changed their name to nest mini's the older models), one Google home, one Home hub and no issues with the speakers. During the summer I'd even have then in my backyard surrounding my pool to have sound in my entire backyard and no issues.

I think you have been unlucky which is unfortunate. I recommend getting a replacement.

Or maybe you have been lucky, haha. Got my refurb. Not quite as mint as my phone was, but close enough, and it works.
