I did that I was referring to the battery percentage showing on the always on display it was an Android 11 it seems to be missing with the update. You can change it to show percentage in the battery section in settings.
Crap, well that sucks for me!I have battery % on my always on display, it's at the bottom center of screen. This is on a Pixel 5a running Android 12. Fingerprint sensor also works with just one tap.

See? No battery icon at the bottom of always on display! Sorry, also couldn't find the edit image to rotate.
Ya found another bug IMHO. I just tried in on my wifes P5a5g. If there is a notification showing the battery percentage is there. No notification and poof, battery percentage is gone. The battery percentage is also on the "always on screen". Weird that it's not on the lock screen with the over/under clock.
I found another bug when I asked the Google Assistant for help she completes the task but there is no voice at all All volume is turned up in the phone is not muted this is starting to get frustrating.
I'm afraid you're right but I'm going to hold out for November's update--Google via phone told me it's going to be a pretty big update to fix any bugs from the Android 12 update. We shall see.It sounds like it might possibly be time for the dreaded "after update" factory reset to get things working properly. I always plan on a reset after a major update, and am thankful when I don't have to
