I updated the camera firmware and noticed a huge difference in processing speed of taking shots. It's so much faster now. The autofocus also got fixed. This is how the pixel should've launched. Anyone else noticed this update?
Interesting i haven't tried. I'll check in the morning.I updated the camera firmware and noticed a huge difference in processing speed of taking shots. It's so much faster now. The autofocus also got fixed. This is how the pixel should've launched. Anyone else noticed this update?
Perhaps slower is better for Night Mode. More light taken in Makes sense to me.Is the Night Sight feature slower than it used to be? I have a P6P and it seems to take several seconds to take the shot. My last Pixel was a 4XL and I don't recall the shots using Night Sight taking nearly as long . . . but perhaps it did.
Remember the pixel 4 xl had that special Neuro core ship or whatever purposely to help with the picture processing. I know tensor has something as well i believe but I think the pixel 4 was still faster if I recall. Tensor will increase performance over time supposedly. Also the faster processing for normal light images seems to be an indicator. Is the Night Sight feature slower than it used to be? I have a P6P and it seems to take several seconds to take the shot. My last update to Google Camera was 4 days ago (1/21) which was 8.4.400.423370569.19.
Can one of you confirm that this is what you have? I haven't really noticed any difference.
What do you mean the update happened in the camera app and not Google play??Version 8.4.400.423370569.19
That's the updated version. I take alot of pictures reason why I purchased the pixel. I noticed instantly of the faster processing and faster auto focus. It was a huge update it was around 318 mb. The update happened in the camera app not the Google play store for some reason.

Me too I've never seen Google apps update from within the app only from the Google Play Store.I didn't understand that comment either. It was a normal Play Store app update for me.
I know you don't have to go to the play store to update your apps if you have auto updates turned on, but the other person said it updated within the app itself.Mine is running the latest, and I have not been to the play store for close on to a month. There is an auto-update feature you can turn On. All my apps update without not human intervention; other than security and OS.
