I received the same and could have sworn I opted out after I received the stable version of Android 13. What is this? I am installing anyway because I don't want to opt out and wipe my phone. But, it's a big update.

The download for the Pixel 6a is small. Probably will still take as long as it's taking on the Pixel 6 Pro. Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release-screenshot_20220908-150305.jpg

Both phones (Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a) still have those features after the Beta update. Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release-screenshot_20220908-182858.jpg

I too had the same problem. I fixed it by uninstalling the updates and then reinstalling the app. Works fine now.

    Haha, small.

Time was when a 32MB hard disk drive was considered huge and a 448MB file would take weeks to download over a 2400bps modern connection.

What's interesting is on my Pixel 6 Pro the Beta update was 1.99GB in size. Much larger than the update on my Pixel 6a.

Are you talking about the QPR1 update?

On my Pixel 6 Pro, the download was only 448MB.

That's the topic of this thread. I downloaded the beta first on my Pixel 6 Pro. When I downloaded it on Pixel 6a I was shocked at how small it was in comparison.
Why the difference? Who knows. If you watch the "Android 13 QPR Beta 1: New Exciting Features Coming" In Depth Tech Reviews video you will notice the download size is 1.99GB as well.

How's the quarterly 1 beta going? Did it include the Sept security update? I didn't opt in yet.

    Yes, it does

I've not had any noticeable issues. I am hoping that the adaptive charging problems have been resolved, but haven't tested it yet.

I'm not certain, but I think the answer is yes, you will be locked in.

Of course, you always have the option to wipe your device and revert to the stock OS .

No, you can opt out at anytime. The only caveat is, in order to go back to stable you will need to fully wipe your phone

This is what people mean when they worry about being "locked in".

Fully wiping and then rebuilding a phone is not an easy task. And, having been there before, you cannot simply restore an online backup because the "older" OS that you have now installed will not recognize the backup that was created by a newer version of the OS. Been there, done that.
