I would be shocked if they keep the trade in values the same with $150 discount
    I'm hoping to be shocked.

I took my s22 ultra into best buy and side by side the screen on my ultra is so much better than the pixel is. I really wanted the pixel but can't give up screen I have even if Google is giving me 850 for my ultra.

Samsung keeps their absolute best displays for themselves. That said, the p7 pro is slightly brighter than the p6 pro was IMO.

The 6.3 vs 6.8 shouldn't dissuade someone from going with the pro. The regular P7 has the exact same dimensions as the s22+ Only a miniscule difference in size when placed up against the other.

If you think it is too big ……. it will be.

Between the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro the 7 is certainly good enough, specially for the price. However, of you can afford it the 7 Pro has the larger quad hd screen, the extra ram, and the telephoto zoom lens and smaller lip bezel at the bottom and a bigger battery.

Right now with the sales going on the 7 is a really good buy but so is the 7 Pro at $749.

I have been an iPhone user for almost 3 years and have a 13 pro max I am trading in. If T mobile would have unlocked the phone I might have just kept it but it has been a month now of back and forth and hours dealing with customer service and t force and the phone is still locked. With the recent sale and high trade in value Google will be paying me a few dollars in store credit to get the 7 Pro. Can't really beat that and I get an unlocked phone. Just a warning don't buy a locked phone from a 3rd party like Best Buy, makes unlocking a nightmare.

My only problem with the 7 Pro is my Apple integration and family who have iPhone.

Back to the point of the thread. I think the extra ram is really useful in keeping the phone longer and potentially selling it down the line. The quad hd and larger screen are a nice thing to have as both phones are large.

I prefer the flat screen of the 7 but the tech in the ltpo 7 Pro panel is also worth the cost. When you think about it on sale the 7 Pro is cheaper than the regular S22 when it came out. It is certainly a better phone than the S22.

So unless cost was the only factor I would get the 7 Pro every time. We use our phones so much and are integral to our daily life and for me to save a few dollars over a couple years owning the phone it is just not worth it.

That being said I don't think there is a better phone for the cost than the Pixel 7. Right now it is only $50 more than the 6 a is at normal price and to me it is a much nicer phone.

There really is not a bad choice between the two in my opinion and Google has done a great job with the software so far. I just got my Pixel 7 Pro and it has been extremely stable so far.

I'm not seeing what you're seeing. To my eyes, my Pixel 7 Pro is slightly sharper than the S22 Ultra, and the specs bear that out.

    1440 x 3088 pixels (~500 ppi density) Samsung S22 Ultra
    1440 x 3120 pixels (~512 ppi density) Google Pixel 7 Pro

I don’t believe there is anyone alive who, given a neutral, identical target in each of those resolutions, could tell them apart.

You are deciding based on color saturation and contrast, as well as a clearly expressed preference for the Samsung phone. (I think)

They actually said they prefered the 7 pro, but I agree that it's incredibly unlikely that, all other things being equal, anyone could tell the difference between those resolutions.

The S22 Ultra probably does have a better screen overall though.

From what I understand, It seems to be a pretty well known fact that Samsung keeps their best screen technology for themselves, even though they supply lots of different companies with different kinds of screens. Screens are their thing, and from what I've noticed they always seem to have the best looking screens in their classes.

Not that others are bad, all the flagships look fine to me, but I'm not that picky

Agreed with you but I always find that Samsung screens are a bit overblown colourwise... I prefer the more natural colours of the Pixel. I find that when printing my photos that the Pixel screen is very close to the printed version.

on my S22U, I have the display set at Natural as opposed to Vivid. my eyes prefer a flatter (more natural) look than the over-saturated color.
