Pixel Buds 2 reviews?
- Would love to see everyone's thoughts on these. Mine arrived last Thursday, and I am really enjoying them so far. It took a while for me to figure out which size of tips to use, but I think I've decided to use the large ones. I thought at first the wing had to be pushed forward, but after watching one of the tips from Google, I realized you just need to set them in your ear where it's the most comfortable, and keeps the buds in place. Very comfortable so far. Sound quality is outstanding, and the touch controls work flawlessly. Appreciate the Google Assistant integration, too. So far, a winner all around.
Looking forward to seeing what future updates will be coming for these. I hope an equalizer will be one of them. I use YouTube Music for my primary streaming music service, and although it has an equalizer, I'm not very happy with the sound using that. But if I get a good seal with my tips, the bass sounds pretty good. Great separation as well.05-11-2020 11:34 AMLike 0 - My son and I ordered on April 29th and we just got our order yesterday. I have to say, I am loving these. However, I do not have much to base it off. I used to use Powerbeats and enjoyed those. They did tend to fall out of my ears when working out while laying on the bench. Last night I worked out and had no issues at all. I am happy with the sound. I have made a few calls, and I am not sure if the person on the other end was having trouble because of service(they were driving in a rural area) or it was hard to hear me. The Google Assistant is awesome and I am quite impressed with the translation feature. Pretty cool. Very happy.05-14-2020 10:24 AMLike 0
- I absolutely love my pixel buds 2! They sound great, look and feel great and Google Assistant is awesome through them. Does any one know though to to make the notification for the battery status of the buds stay in the notification shade constantly. It seems as though it goes away after a few minutes usually which is slightly annoying to me? Thanks Soo much. They really rock!05-15-2020 07:17 AMLike 0
- I'm loving mine as well. I had the Samsung Galaxy Buds previously. Although the buds seem slightly louder, the sound on the Pixel Buds 2 is much deeper, full, and robust. Really loving that.
I find the voice quality to be really, really great! And listening to a conversation sounds almost as if I was holding the phone to my ear.
I've been using YouTube Music More now (waiting for my que to convert my Google Play Music library. My question to you is do you find that YT Music is louder than GPMusic on your buds? I am finding that, especially with older songs.05-27-2020 04:04 PMLike 0 -

I use it a lot for calls and have had no complaints.05-31-2020 07:08 AMLike 0
- Yeah, me too! I use mine for everything as well, and mine are absolutely fine!kjharrison likes this.05-31-2020 07:17 AMLike 1
- Well, unfortunately, some people are just way too opinionated! In a bad way I mean.
https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/0...buds-2-review/05-31-2020 02:08 PMLike 0 - Alrighty, so here is an update again: this morning I went out on a walk around my neighborhood and my right side but didn't work at all including touch controls. Only my left side worked. Try to resetting my pixel buds in their case the connection everything. Even, I tried to Reboot my Pixel 3 XL ones. No success. I had an online chat session with Google products support. I went into the buds at on my phone and turned off any of the detection and the right side instantaneously worked again. I was just close to having them send me a brand new replacement in the mail. Google online support asked a senior manager and they said that they're working on another software update for the buds because I believe it really is due to an overactive in-ear sensor on the buds themselves. I mean, it is really weird let all of a sudden this morning they stopped working on the right side versus even up to last night they're working beautifully but for right now until a new software update comes out, I have turned off the in-ear detection feature of our pixel buds 2 in the application.06-03-2020 10:11 AMLike 0

- Nah,not at all dude. I mean even when I had the in-ear detections function turned on, both buds were connecting to my phone just fine... it's just that I wasn't getting any audio or touch controls on the right side bud. That's the worry thing about it. That's what I even told the Google support product specialist rep valve for the chat session. It makes no sense because up until last night both buds with any of detection worked just fine. I will mention that when you flip open the case on the always on ambient display you can more consistently see the buds battery level versus having to light up the lock screen or unlock your phone to see that notification. It works a little bit better. Yeah, the rep told me that Google is working on another software update to hopefully fix the inner sensor over sensitivity. I really didn't want to have them replaced but I was going to if they didn't work obviously. Thankfully, they are working fine again now.jhilker likes this.06-03-2020 10:30 AMLike 1
- Hahaha I'm so so glad to hear you see improvements as well dude!! Yeah, hopefully future software updates will force the in-ear sensor to not be so overacting and annoying!06-03-2020 12:45 PMLike 0
- Same thing happened to me day before yesterday...couldn't get the right bud to connect. Dropped them back in the case and popped in my Samsung buds+. Took them out today and everything is fine *shrugs*06-06-2020 02:56 PMLike 0

I will say this much though, when I enable the in-ear detection feature, my right side bud no matter what I'm listening to or where I am, is dead. Still no touch controls work, and no audio. Only the left side bud works with any other detection on. That being said, with the in-ear detection feature off, everything is normal.06-06-2020 03:00 PMLike 0 - Well, see, in my case, the bud side that isn't working is connected it's just that no audio is out of it. So I just deleted from the phone, and repair it. It's just an odd one. Hopefully a future firmware update will fix that. As long as they work I don't really give a crap! Lol obviously I love them too much. If I didn't love them as much, my healthy wife wouldn't have purchased them from me as a gift, and I would have returned them long ago but as we all are, I'm a googler so I'm patient with it and I love it nonetheless as the bottom line!

"Hey everyone, I’ve got a quick follow-up on some of the improvements we’ve identified and are expecting to roll out in the coming weeks:
Decrease instances of phone call cut outs
Improve autorecovery when one or both earbuds lose connection
Improve media playback stability for phones that have software audio encoding
Separately, this week we’ll be releasing a software update (Firmware: 296) that decreases the audio hissing / static noise that some of you may have experienced.
Thank you again for your ongoing feedback, and as promised I’ll continue to update this thread."06-09-2020 01:09 PMLike 2 - Here's another post from that thread published today:

- Yeah I'll tell you though that future drop of asking Google Assistant how much battery life my earbuds have is more than wonderful it's amazing! It's super useful and convenient. Also I'll admit the bass boost feature is nice...10-10-2020 09:56 AMLike 0
