Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
I hope so but was wondering y'all's input. I have amazing Sprint service in Miami and would def like tho rock this phone. Obviously it works on project Fi but as time passes by, we'll know more and more. For now, what are your thoughts of it working on Sprint???

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
Yes, it will work on Sprint.
-
Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
It will work on Sprint,Verizon,ATT,TMobile,US Cellular IIRC.
-
Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
Will it also work on T mobile? Project Fi is both Sprint and T mobile?
-
Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
Of course it works on Sprint. If it works on Fi it has to work on Sprint.
The problem with CDMA carriers is that the carrier has to add the phone's serial number to their database (i.e. activate it) in order for it to be properly supported. Not sure how Sprint will handle this, but the phone is certainly compatible.

Yes. It will work on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
Thanks for all the replies. More than the common sense of technology and bands that it supports Sprint, there's still no official confirmation tho, correct?

I doubt Sprint will say much since they aren't selling the phone. Looking at the bands and seeing it also Fi shows it will work on Sprint unless they do something crazy and block them for some strange reason.
The only thing I am seeing for it not working with Sprint on is the WiFi calling (Pixel and Pixel XL will support T-Mobile and Verizon WiFi calling).

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
No Wi-Fi calling in this day and age is a big deal. I'm on Sprint and can't justify this purchase.

Most likely it won't since it's a Verizon exclusive CDMA/lte, and is only unlocked for Att, Fi, and tmobile

Huh? Verizon exclusive what?
It's only being sold by Verizon. Thats the exclusive.. It's the only carrier selling it. The phone still has all the bands for Sprint and the other carriers. It's still the same phone.

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
I ordered an unlocked one last night says will work on all major carriers in the US. I bought the unlocked one cause I can't stand the fact that Verizon has the bootloader locked.

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
It is up to Google what carrier services are surfaced and this case they did not include Sprint Wi-Fi calling, or other carrier Wi-Fi calling for that matter.

Supposedly T-Mobile confirmed Wi-Fi calling as well as Verizon

They did.

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
Hmm, let me look into this with our product team, stand by..

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
I looked into this with our Product team and the Wi-Fi calling "support" that VZ and T-Mobile are claiming are most likely tied to voLTE than anything else. Ultimately Google does not support IMS on Pixel which would have enabled Android native Wi-Fi calling on our network.

I've never used WiFi calling in my life. Why is this important?

Some people may go to known weaker signal areas but have wifi there. They can use wifi as their cell signal and still have calls/txt service through their carrier via the wifi.

Some people don't have good or no cell service in their house but have Wi-Fi and good Internet. Or some people work in buildings that cell signals don't penetrate well.
I'm lucky that I get a good Verizon signal at my home and work... not everybody is that lucky.

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
I use Tracfone which provides me service thru Verizon. Does anyone know if I can use Pixel XL on their BYOB plan? Their website lets you plug in a ESN number to see if it will work on their system, but of course you have to have the phone to submit the ESN, so that's not really helpful.

Re: Pixel XL to work on Sprint?
So cool to see Matt. Hi matt. I no longer work in the industry but I keep a close ear to it. I bought both pixels.

Is anyone using this on Sprint with their existing sim card?
When I was upgrading from my Moto X Pure to my current Nexus 6P, I ordered the recommended sim and was unable to activate online. I called into tech support and they were also unable to activate the new sim.
However, she was able to use my current Moto X Pure nano sim and activate the Nexus 6P.
I am tempted to order a new # CZ2144LWC / 019962040146 but am also hoping my current nano sim, originally from my Moto X Pure will work.
On a side note, does anyone know if a sim card degrades over time?
