Buzz among non-techies

Had two conversations with two groups of people about the Pixel today, both non techies. Only other time I've heard cell phone conversations come up are when new iOS versions break stuff or the note 7 blowing up.

Anyone else hearing unusual amounts of non-techie buzz?

Myself, not yet. I probably will when I go back to work tomorrow (AT&T employee here). Since there is a VZW store 2 block from mine, I'm sure we will get asked about it.
What's really going to make the nerds mad is that Nexus is done.
