    Sounds like a carrier/service issue.

So it sounds like static? There have been reports of rattling sounds from the speakers too.

What carrier? Are you close to a dead zone?

There is a secondary microphone on the back of the Pixel, located far-right of the camera - looking at the back of the phone, there is the flash, the camera, the laser rangefinder receiver and transmitter (two small round dots) and then the microphone.

During calls, this microphone is used as part of the noise-cancellation circuitry. If it is blocked by a case or simply by the way you hold the phone, you may have undesirable results.

Did you change carriers when you purchased the Pixel phone? If not, did you experience the sound you're describing prior buying the Pixel?
