Yup! It's about to be back on the market once I figure out which Android phone I want.

No I'm looking for something now. Not a huge Sammy fan.

Has anyone tried a 3rd party camera app to see if the issue is present

I noticed that 30fps seems to be slightly better. I have to agree with several of the posters. I got the phone to use pure Android. And the sales slicks all say best smartphone camera ever. I have a 2 year old and love taking videos of her. And this is going to be a deal breaker if it isn't fixed quickly

Yep it sucks. I agree with you that the 30fps is better, on 1080p. The 4K I noticed to only be good when using outside. Haven't tried a third party app.

I don't quite get how the camera is SO good, but the video isn't. Doesn't the video use the same hardware the camera does (the lens)?? If so it leads me to believe that maybe the grainy, noisy out of focus video quality could be corrected...how I have no idea though

I think it's software. Fortunately Google can update the camera app anytime because it's in the play store. Hopefully they don't take their time.

I think the EIS is messed up to. I took a video with it on and it was moving the camera on it's on when I stopped panning. And then completely blurred the entire frame. Nothing was in focused. Took EIS off and it was a bit better. No ghost movements anyway

Still don't have any complaints about mine. Honestly, I don't find either of those two videos acceptable if I was really looking for memorable videos of the kids. The S7's is a little more distracting to me just due to how it handles the light from the door. The Pixel video just doesn't seem to be as crisp to me.

It's almost like the entire video has a haze over it. It someone tried to soften it post production

The EIS sucks, indoor and outdoors. If you pan too quickly it stutters and is so not smooth at all. I've never had issues taking video with any cell phone before and I find myself saying don't move too quickly while shooting video.

So your saying a third party camera app with video capability is better?

Not crisp is an understatement lol. It's noisy, hazy and blurry and it's not acceptable to me. C'mon google!

It's something with the EIS, BC the camera works so incredibly well. The only diff with the video hardware is that EIS is present. The focus on the videos is non existent.

Yes open camera works much better. So it seems Google just needs to update their app. I suspect it wasn't developed with the Pixel's EIS in mind

Wow that is crazy! Now did you test a video out in low light indoors?

I tested them dude by side in multiple lightings. Open camera consistently performs better. Although when I disable EIS on Google camera the blur remains

The reviews for the Google camera app mention the blurriness started with the most recent camera update.

The 7 second video is with open camera. 8 second is with Google camera. Google camera color reproduction is better. But things seem a bit softer

Well, ya, neither are great solutions. I was being modest for both phones.
