After few months of having slow connection with the Pixel to my Sony Deck which takes about 30 seconds or so, I thought maybe it was the Pixel that was the issue. I was wrong, and I'm glad I was.
It turned out it was the Sony car deck and perhaps this particular deck just didn't get a long with the Pixel's BT. Prior to this on going connectivity issue, I had an iPhone SE that was working just fine and would connect about 5 or 8 seconds. But then, months later I switched to Pixel and noticed the significant differences in connectivity. It had been a few months and the most annoying experienced I've had with BT technology. I tried all the troubleshooting I could possibly have. I restored, restarted and tried dozens of bluetooth apps from playstore and none of them had work. So finally, I came across the Pawn Shop today and to maybe kill time. Unexpectedly, I came across to an older Sony deck that has similar harness that my existing car receiver has and I thought maybe older deck would work with the Pixel better. You probably ask, why another Sony deck? Because I just want something quick like plug and play and didn't want to pay for installing fee and they have to re-harness my wires again. Anyways, I had the rep test it out first and makes sure is in working condition and see how long my Pixel would connect to its BT. I was amazed of how much it took. It took like about maybe 3 or 5 seconds than when I was using the iPhone SE. All in all I am so glad that I didn't have to go back to iPhone for connectivity reason. I am just so attached and so use to Android and Pixel altogether and I don't wanna go back to iPhone if I don't have to. I just love the Pixel.

Glad you figured out that it wasn't the pixel! We have gone back and forth in these forums comparing to the s7 edge. I finally threw the s7 in a drawer and realized I can't do away with the pixel. All the bells and whistles of the s7 edge aren't enough to sacrifice performance and battery to me. In the end battery is my #1 priority and I've never had an Android device with this type of impressive battery life. I'm not even on the XL and my battery blows the s7 edge out of the water. It's actually mind boggling that Samsung has a monster 3600mah battery in it and can't even keep up with the pixel...Or the Moto play, or the droid z force. Just goes to show you how bad Samsung optimizes their battery and how poorly their software integrates with the battery. Samsung has always been the flashy Android device that competed with Apple. The two brands couldn't be any more polar opposites. Now that the pixel is out, it is the sole competitor to the iPhone. It's an iPhone on Android software and I'm really enjoying the user experience.

I hear ya! And thanks! Piixel is that good and its hard for me to give it up. If I hadn't any love for this device I would have gone back with the iPhone long time ago. I don't know sometimes why I just love the Pixel. It doesn't have all the fancy or gimmicky features but I just love this thing. And like you said its an iPhone with Android OS on it. It's a complete phone for what it is.

I've tried pretty much all the major OEMs flagships. I always end up back with stock Android. It's not perfect but to me it's the best. Stock Android or bust, for me.

You get what you pay for when it comes to phone. Flagships line is where it is or else anyone is bound to be disappointed. Google definitely got it right this time and I think they earned it.

Was it skipping with other BT devices? Or just one particular device? Did you do all the necessary troubleshooting? Restore and software up to date? Believe it or not I counted how Bluetooth Apps I tried to make my Pixel work with the Sony car deck and it was about 30 Apps but I am so glad I didn't give up on Pixel. This is the most reliable Android phone I ever had aside owning other iPhones in the past.

Most Bluetooth issues are problems with standards. Not the phones. Most Bluetooth bugs in home and car stereos never get fixed.

Then everybody blames their newest flagship device.

I completely agree and that is why I had to find that was compatible with my Pixel rather than completely blame the device. Fortunately, I had enough patience to figure and able to isolate the issues. I think for most people they would have been given up.
