Hi - By chance, I noticed a transaction in the "My Orders" list of the Play Store for ?101.88 (yes that's one HUNDRED and one pounds) dated 12th October 2012. This was for an app that was supposedly unavailable for purchase on that date, but was previously on sale at ?1.02. I had earlier purchased the app from the developer at ?1.02 on 28th November 2011, but there is no record of this in "My Orders". So it seems, nearly a year later I have been charged an extra ?100 for this app. I have never received a receipt from Google for this transaction, and had no knowledge it had occurred until I saw it in the order list last week.
I contacted the developer, who were extremely helpful, and they provided full screenshots of the only transaction they have - the one for ?1.02. So, I have been chasing up Google to find out what has happened to the other ?100 and to get full details of the mystery transaction that occurred in October 2012. Google have been very unhelpful, simply providing stock replies that they cannot issue refunds and refusing to provide full transaction details. It's like hitting your head against a brick wall.
As things stand, it seems that Google can authorize transactions against your wallet, not send a receipt (so you know it has occurred), and not provide any follow up information in case of a dispute.
