How to buy item on Google Play with balance and credit card?

I currently have $7.00 gift card balance on Google Play. I want to buy something that is $7.99. Is there a way to buy the item so that my $7.00 balance is used up, leaving me with $0 balance, and that the extra $0.99 is charged to my credit card? I do not want to buy the whole thing with my credit card, and also don't want to buy Google Play credit.

No, you can't split the payment. You have to do one of the things you said you don't want to do or not buy it at all.
