How does Huddle transmit data?

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to grasp how Huddle works. I've looked through google's website for info but it's not very detailed. Does huddle transmit and receive messages via SMS, data usage, or what? I ask because I've recently changed my texting plan. I certainly do not want to go bananas in Huddle if I run the risk of crossing my SMS per month limit.

From what I've seen, it's all data, not SMS.

The only messaging apps that will incur charges as text messages are SMS/MMS apps. Everything else is data.

I think any messaging app other than native or 3rd party replacements for said app are data. Because first why would you do that? How would you get it to work cross carrier. Wouldn't you just to have it SMS from your phone to a google serve to that persons sms and back and forth. I don't know anything about that just guessing.

And SMS should have been legacy years ago.
