I just received the following email from Project Fi Team

We're excited to announce that we've added the newly released Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P phones to our device lineup.
Join Project Fi and get $50 Google Play credit with your purchase
For a limited time, you can pre-order the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P from Project Fi and get a $50 Google Play credit – good for music, movies, apps, and more.

    Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P
The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P both come with the most advanced camera ever built into a Nexus, plus a fingerprint sensor to make security more convenient.
We're thrilled to welcome more devices into the Project Fi family and hope to soon welcome you, too!
5 things to know about Project Fi
Say hello to fast speeds, easy communication and simple pricing.
Tap into a network of networks
Project Fi uses new technology to give you better coverage by intelligently connecting you to the fastest network at your location whether it's Wi-Fi or our two LTE network partners.
Secure connections to fast, reliable Wi-Fi networks
We automatically connect you to over a million Wi-Fi networks we've verified as fast and reliable. When we connect you to an open network, we secure your data through encryption.
Wi-Fi enabled calls provide even more coverage
When you’re on the move, calls seamlessly transition between Wi-Fi and cellular, so you can keep your conversation going.
    One simple plan
Our plan starts with the Fi Basics for $20 per month, which includes: unlimited domestic talk and text, unlimited international texts, Wi-Fi tethering, and access to coverage in 120+ countries. Then it's $10 per GB for data. $10 for 1GB, $20 for 2GB, $30 for 3GB, and so on. That's it. With no annual contract required.
    Never pay for unused data
Our plan is designed to save you money. Let's say you go with 3 GB for $30 and only use 1.4 GB one month. You'll get $16 back — you only pay for what you use.

It also would appear that they are giving a coupon for 50% off a case from the Google Store; at least I have an email stating I will get the $50 Play credit plus the 1/2 off coupon towards a case from the Google Store for ordering my 6P from Project Fi.

I have a Nexus 6P on order and am currently using Project Fi with my Nexus 6. I got a email stating this:

In addition to adding the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P phones to our device lineup, we've also transitioned to using all-new SIM cards for Project Fi.
Do you need a new SIM?
Your existing SIM card will continue to work in the original Nexus 6. You'll need a new SIM card for the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P if you plan to use it on the Project Fi network.
How to get a new SIM
If your new Nexus phone didn't come from Project Fi, just visit fi.google.com/order-sim to place your order.
    Need help?
We’re available 24/7 by phone, chat, or email.

I ordered the sim just in case, because I'm not sure the 6P will come with one. I ordered it from the Google store and not Project Fi.

I ordered nexus 6p 32gb aluminum we'd w project fi to take advantage of finance offer. Price will be about 10 more bucks than my cricket plan and the only thing losing is 20gb data vs 2gb in project fi. No biggie as I am in wifi 95% of time. Just need to download music to phone to replace Google play streaming to and from work. Should be delivered by end of nobs beer, ouch!
