Any East coast travellers with Fi?

Hi everyone... I was wondering if anyone here has travelled via car up/down the east coast (ie. I-85, maybe I-75 too) and their experiences, good or bad? I'm in Atlanta and left VZW about 3yrs ago for TMobile, and around town signal was pretty good. But during Holidays, my family and I would travel via car up to MD via I-85, I-95 and even I-75 going towards Ohio/Michigan areas and signal was TERRIBLE. So we switched back to VZW last year and signal is back to great travelling, but I still hate paying them $150/month for 2 phones that barely use 4GB/month between the two!

I already ordered my Nexus 6P and signed up for Fi to try it out in the coming months, but just wanted to get any feedback beforehand, if possible. Worse case, Fi doesn't work for me and I just use the 6P on VZW, but would love to pay half of what I'm paying now with VZW

Did the Finger Lakes during the summer from NJ.
Signal wasn't good. That was the middle of nowhere.
Traveling there I had signal most of the time.
