Can I get my XT1096 to work on project Fi?

I'm tired of Verizon I know some people have had success with getting the moto x pure edition (xt1095) to with google project Fi. I'm wondering if it would be possible to get my xt1096 to work with project fi or do i need to buy a new phone?
