So we've all seen Alex Dobie's gallery and initial thoughts on the 2000 mAh extended battery for the GSM Galaxy Nexus. Here are mine, which mirror his:
    • The battery came with a slightly thicker battery cover, which looks and feels like the one for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.
    • The phone indeed does feel a little better in the hand, thanks to that extra thickness.
    • The thickness in no way is bothering me.
    • The only real difference is that you lose the angle at the bottom of the phone, so you might not as quickly be able to tell which end is which.
    • The stock battery still fits with the extended battery cover. Don't feel it rattling around or anything.
    • NFC works fine with the 200 mAh battery. (It's official Samsung stock, after all.)
    • NFC also works just fine when you're using the stock battery with the extended battery cover.

In a word or two: Me like. Got mine on eBay for around $50, and it took a couple of weeks to get here from Korea.

Does it fit the same way with an Otterbox Defender case?

Do you know if the GSM extended battery cover would fit the LTE GNex (with extended battery from Verizon)? I want the Verizon logo gone and I know the standard covers aren't interchangeable

Hey Phil in your average daily usage how much extra battery life are you getting with the 2000 mAh battery? I'm really impressed with the battery life of the stock battery with my GSM Galaxy Nexus, it lasts about twice as long as the battery in my HTC Amaze (that 1.5 GHz processor really sucks the juice, I guess).

    Thanks

i ordered one last night, i just hope it doesnt take too too long to arrive. Although my stock gsm battery last more at least 17 hours for my minimal useage. Only thing i dont like is that the desktop dock is fitted for stock battery which i have on preorder

A little off-topic, but certainly related I feel... Personally I'd love it if review sites (always) reported whether accessories were compatible with the OEM extended batteries in their product reviews. Phil, if you're reading this, please make it a check list item for all your reviewers to at least mention.

I understand reviewers couldn't be expected to test every extended 3rd party battery/battery door combination out there but given the crap stock battery life one should assume everyone will want to know if accessory X works with at least the OEM extended battery.

Maybe I've gotten spoiled by Moto having inserts for the phone by itself, the phone with OEM case, etc for their docks, but I find it unfathomable that the Verizon/Samsung battery charger "dock" thing won't work with the extended battery without the door having to hang open. And I can't find any info on whether the other Nexus accessories work with the extended battery. It's hard enough to tell if it works with the thicker Verizon version vs the GSM vs the even thicker Verizon with OEM.

    Anyway, my two cents.

    Thanks

    (2000-1750) / 1750 * 100 = 14.3% difference

Battery should have absolutely nothing to do with you having or not having a data connection. There's no configuration to be done.

I know but I have switched batteries a number of times and with the new 2000 mah battery the data will not work. I can't explain it. Something must b interfering with it. Was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if there is something I overlooked.

All I can think of is its either faulty or not changed (maybe voltages are low) or perhaps you are in a bad reception area and the extra thickness is enough to interfere so you don't get a signal, although you are being specific that its data only?
