So I'm buying a Galaxy Nexus (white) but it doesn't have the 1700 Mhz band. Will it work on Tmobiles HSPA+ and 3G (and calls + texts)?? I really need help, I'm getting it soon...

I think that all GSM Galaxy Nexus' have the 1700 band since they are pentaband but if not then no, the phone will not work with T-Mobile's 3G/4G HSPA+ without the 1700 band, unless you are in an area where T-Mobile has deployed 3G on the 1900 band.. I am sure though it will work with their EDGE (2G) network and yes you can still access the internet and send and receive texts and calls over their EDGE network. The device should work with AT&T's 3G and HSPA+ though.

Yeah I'd just confirm that I'm using the GNex from the Play Store on T-Mo USA just fine on HSPA+ :)

What kind of data speeds do you get? The Nexus is not HSPA42 right? So I assume you're not getting the typical TMobile 4G speeds...?

Average 2-5Mbps but I have seen up to 10 in really strong areas. I've also used my GNex on AT&T's HSPA+ network in the same areas and get consistently lower numbers fwiw.
