Hey there. As my first forum post on Android Central, I was wondering about the methods to force an update to the latest available software on your phone. I have a [yakjuux] Galaxy Nexus on Android 4.1.1. But, Android 4.2.1 is currently being pushed out to some people in Canada.
Now, I'm aware of two methods to force an update without rooting...
1. Use the *#*#checkin#*#* code in the Phone app
2. Clearing data of the 'Google Services Framework' and force stop
I'm not exactly sure of the full effects of using the second method. So my question is...
What happens after clearing the Google Services Framework? Does the Google account, associated with the phone, get modified in anyway? (Deleted, reset, etc.) Or... Is the Google account not affected at all?
Some feedback would be greatly appreciated!
