My Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 screen is DARK, how do I remedy this?

I don't understand why so many people go on about the great screen quality of this machine.
Size is good, but screen is DARK and gloomy. Contrast is very bad in dark areas.

No, I am not impressed with screen of my new Samsung Galaxy TabPro 12.2.

Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Welcome to Android Central! Just curious--have you been able to compare your tablet with an identical model side by side? Could it be that your screen is defective?

I compare it to my iPad2 screen, and when watching live sport the iPad is a far supperior screen in crispness and contrast.
My Android machine is new, so I hope sscreen isn't defective. It works pretty nice when screen pictures are still.

Is brightness turned all the way up? Are there any special display settings? In know that the Tab S has several different settings for the screen that adjust the color vibrancy.

Yes, Brightest possible. That only makes the contrast even starker, making the darker areas of picture darker.
No settings to adjust colours, contrast etc. Very frustrating.
