Ok so here's my story. I have a nexus 4 and one day I dropped it and the touchscreen didn't work so I tried replacing the digitizer but I broke the lcd while doing it and now my question is, when I applied heat on the digitizer to melt the glue, did I also damage the motherboard? The lcd now looks like this: PIC_0320.JPG

Re: Is my mother broken?

It's possible the board is damaged. The downside to self repairs is anything can go wrong: over or under heating, damaging connectors, ribbons and wires, etc.

Can you get an entire screen assembly instead?

I wouldn't worry so much about damaging the motherboard as damaging the LCD screen (which can create all sorts of problems).

I agree with Rukbat... The motherboard can take a lot more heat for a longer period of time compared to the LCD.
