Why won't my brand new Samsung S5 charge?

Brand new Sumsung S5 will not charge

Phone came with about 60% charge, run down to 15% so plugged it in, shows charging but not moving after half hour...still showing 15% even though the phone is turned off.
Can you help please???

Welcome to AC.

It may be a small temporary glitch with the correct reporting of the charge level but if it does not resolve itself, return it. Try a Power Off and Restart. If no go, try Safe Mode, in case a third-party app may be responsible. If you return it, you'll have to Factory Reset, so check whether that fixes it.
