Charging port on the top

Does anyone miss or wish for a top located charging port? I was just thinking of my first Android - Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S1?) which had the charging port on top. Made so much sense to me because most of the time the charging wire came from the back of the desk towards the top of the phone (when it's sitting on the desk). Easier to plug into the top vs curling it around the bottom, and easier to use the phone too while charging because the wire would be out of the way.

I heard docks might be one of the reason everyone moved the port to the bottom - was there another reason?

Sensors and cameras at the top of the phone were also a reason (which is why now we have #thenotch ). For desk purposes I get it, but for car and everything else I really prefer it where it is (or just go with Wireless charging). Although now that the headphone jack is disappearing and those USB-C dongles are in use, having it on top might be a better idea if you're having the phone in your pocket.
