Honor finally posted the manual update download yesterday so I went ahead and installed last night.

Performance is greatly improved across the board. I'll break down the notable enhancements I've seen in the few hours of using it.

    UI -

The interface feels much more fluid throughout with smoother screen transitions and animations. The Google keyboard feels more responsive with the letter popups having no delay or stutter as would occasionally happen on 5.1.

App switching is notably faster, but is still wanting when compared to more capable hardware.

Notifications so far seem to be working better, but there's still layout issues. Annoyed to see that Google Maps' navigation notification doesn't expand resulting in overlapping text.

Bluetooth Audio - Crossing my fingers, but so far BT audio playback was great in my car this morning. On 5.1, I encountered occassional skips and stutters with BT playback that other phones didn't.

Waze Weirdness - When launching Waze for the first time post update, it wasn't finding my location. Just to confirm GPS functionality, I launched GPS Status, which the OS then prompted for location access. This clued me in that Waze was likely a permission issue. I ended up manually enabling the location permission for Waze, which fixed the issue. Not sure if unique to my install, but something to watch out for.

So far this update is a welcome improvement. There's still rough edges around EMUI, but overall I'm still pleased with the performance/value of this phone.

Do you use Snapchat? It's pretty laggy right now. Does the update fix that?

Sorry, not a Snapchat user. Most apps seem about the same so far.

Google Play Music has always been laggy for me on this phone and it appears unchanged for me. It takes 1-3 seconds to open an album from the recent activity page.

I'd like Marshmallow better if it didn't force pin to unlock or fingerID. However even after deactivating the Android Device Manager and other device managers, "None" is still grayed out.

I have noticed that the phone starts to heat up more noticeably or gets warm faster now. At least compared to before where I didn't notice the back of the phone heating up at all. I only notice it getting warm when I use wifi for an extended time. I have also noticed recently that the battery drains faster as well. The battery is still decent but I noticed when running lollipop - the battery did not drain as fast even when using wifi. But I can still get thru a day of normal use.

I've only noticed over heating when playing Pokemon Go. But other than that in can get 12 hours of battery life even when listening to podcasts for 8 hours and using social media throughout my day.

I noticed my phone got pretty hot while updating and during the application checks. It's been fine so far after that except for the GPS issue which is driving me nuts and I'm about to roll back. I've also noticed some changes to some of the extra features in EMUI like the open apps draw where it used to show all of your currently open apps in a grid pattern and now its just in one line that you have to scroll through. A few small things like that feel different to me.

Since Marshmallow update I only noticed Periscope for Twitter heats things up considerably if on too long but I expected as much with live streaming and videos.
